If barbecue is about the smoke, pit beef is about the fire. Pit beef to perfection. I’ve been coming here since before Andy & Brenda Wargo bought it 42 years ago. It’s the standard against which I’d compare pit beef. I’ve not found better anywhere. Homemade rolls perfectly frame the sandwich. The rest of the menu is excellent as well. Delicious soups. Terrific fresh fried oysters in season. A very credible crabcake. Pit turkey or ham. Down home. Not pretentious. You’re extra fortunate if you get George as your waiter. (Pit beef cooked on Fridays & Saturdays. Save the oysters for a Wednesday night.)

First time ever eating at this place and it was horrible. My daughter ordered bourbon salmon, which was dry and the bourbon sauce was poured on top like ketchup out of a jar. Our potatoes were brown on the inside. The broccoli looked frozen, straight out of the bag. My mom’s steak was a thin slab of meat on top of two pieces of toast. The spaghetti sauce was dark red paste, which also looked like it came out of a can. We asked for extra napkins b/c of having my granddaughter (a baby) with us. We were brought three napkins. We had to ask again and we’re only brought three more. Paid $105.00 with tip. We could have gone to the grocery store and ate better. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

so I gave 3 stars simply because when I ordered the chuck steak it was served to me as a meatloaf with gravy . the mashed potatoes tasted instant. their house dressing g was amazing for the salad I ordered and tasted just like Ceasar dressing, also theirbread was served warm with butter only complaint is they didn’t cut it all the way through. The dining area wasn’t updated and was very a bit too dark and had Christmas lights hung up on the walls. My boyfriend ordered the BBQ pulled pork. once he got to the middle of the sandwich he started tasting what he described as sugar granulates. he did not enjoy the sauce that was mixed in with the pork due to this. The wait staff was very plight and very attentive. pool leagues are co stanty playing so call ahead to check if they are playing because we could get to play on a Thursday. then was told we weren’t allowed to play open table after they were done by the waitress that asked the staff. the waitress informed us that they were shutting down after the league was done.

Just moved into area went for dinner. It was amazing one person got appetizers one got an entree another ordered a sandwich all three were delicious. The staff was great and the owner came up introduced herself welcomed me to area. 5 stars I will definitely go back and suggest to anyone to go to Wargo’s

Wargo’s is a Harford County delicacy!! I don’t live in Harco anymore so whenever I come back to my hometown, I always seek out Wargo’s on Saturday because that’s when they serve their famous, mouth watering, tastebud tingling, electrifying pit turkey sandwiches. Even if you aren’t in the mood for one of these massive, juicy, life changing sandwiches, you should go just for the rolls which are baked to perfection! ALSO I’ve had my fair share of crab cakes in the area and they have INCREDIBLE crab cakes with the perfect amount of filler.

I had the soft crab sandwich at Wargos tonight. It was the best softcrab sandwich I have ever had. I was disappointed at the size of the two softcrabs when they set the plate down, let’s just say they were small, but I was astounded after the first bite! It was perfectly seasoned and the softcrab itself was full of flavor. The homemade roll was light and did not take away from the flavor of the softcrab. So good I wish I could have gotten another!

I ate there a year ago and had nothing but good comments. This time the food was horrible,baked potatoes brown inside, nasty tasting broccoli, dry salmon, everything horrible. The only good thing was the service.
