Came here with friends for the omakase. They’ve been bragging about this place for months. $78 gives you 7 dishes. Everything ranging from uni, monk fish, toro, oyster, yellowtail, fatty tuna, scallops, ikura, flying fish, carpaccio. All the fish is super fresh imported from Japan daily. We had to book in advance to reserve our table and the omakase.

Sushi was alright, didn’t really have a taste to them. The fatty tuna or the salmon didn’t have the buttery taste to them. The other sashimi was ok, nothing to write home about. Presentation was nice though (sashimi deluxe 14pcs). Definitely would prefer another place for late night sushi. We also ordered the jasmine green tea old fashioned, didn’t taste anything like tea or had tea flavor. Other then that, the baked mussels with scallops were really good (comes with 4 mussels)!

Best sushi we’ve had in the DC area! Their Happy hour is from 5-7pm with $3 Kirin Ichiban and $4 classic sushi rolls. Seriously good sushi. Perfect date night spot since all customers have to be 18+. Jake the bartender/server is the best and I’ve never had better customer service. DEFINITELY going to be a frequent customer.

Shoot! They do have an amazing happy hour, but the sushi was really rough. The rolls were a little Safeway-esq. First the fish didn’t seem to be of the best quality. The rolls themselves were a tad tossed together, and you could actually watch them make it which reinforced the thought. I really wanted to like the rolls.

Great restaurant! Chef Peter has great style and skill and I have never not been presented with great sushi here. Definitely a reliable spot for the DC area to get an authentic Japanese style sushi experience with a little American flare and fusion. But definitely not too much, as they do the classics very well and look for some of their specialty rolls like the Del Ray Roll and some others. Highly recommended. Plus they have good flights of Sake to taste.

The Sushi Bar is my go to in the area for fresh, delicious sashimi and sushi rolls. They offer perfect versions of classic rolls and have fun specialties to try. The mussels appetizer is a great addition to round out the meal! Food is always ready on time for pick-up–the owners have mastered the necessary grab and go routine and have a canopy out front where you pick-up your online order (or place a new order in-person). I do wish they were open for lunch!
