We have dined a few times before at the Glass Onion. It is consistently great food. On this visit the Pear and Beet Salad was excellent. The Diver Scallops over a tasty Polenta was excellent. The Bolognese over angel hair pasta was hearty and delicious. Consistently great dining venue.

Excellent across the board. Gazpacho was delicious as was the salad and Milanesa. Our server was great, as was the atmosphere. We had kind of forgotten this place but glad we’re back.

Was small but loved the ambiance. Staff was great. The food was absolutely amazing. Will certainly return. They were quite busy so, reservations are recommended.

This small Italian restaurant was worth the 15 minute drive from the Grove Park Inn to escape the Asheville dinner crowds and enjoy a lovely meal. The wine list is approachable with both everyday and higher end options available. We chose a midrange Napa red blend to pair with the bolder flavors and red sauces. The couple at the table next to us were so excited about the Wild Boar Bolognese they made sure to lean over and share their recommendation (which was backed up by a completely cleaned plate!) Their enthusiasm was infectious, so we followed their lead, but asked the chef to serve it over the Fresh Fettuccini instead of the Rigatoni. The flavors of roasted peppers together with the sweet and nutty wild boar were great, and we added a little spice with red pepper for a hearty and flavorful dinner. Nothing beats fresh fettuccini and I’d commend Glass Onion’s highly. The fried eggplant entree was a Special, and our server’s high recommendation of it swayed the decision. No regrets as the combination of the spicy sauce with the light pasta and warm cheese was classic and unmissable. The service was fantastic too! Consider getting off the beaten path, and travel just another few miles outside Asheville for a cozy and wonderful Italian meal.

We were visiting from Houston and San Francisco where there are great restaurants and thought Glass Onion in Weaverville would be a good choice. It was the worse meal I had in the Ashville area. The special Sunday night was veal which was so tough that I could barely cut it and so tough that I could not eat it. I love pear and beet salad but the pear was hard as a brick. So very disappointed. Our meals at the Biltmore Hotel were much better!

We went to the glass onion to celebrate my dads birthday and it did not disappoint. The chef’s special that night was eggplant parmigiana which was delicious we sat by the window and great ambiance. If coming from Asheville, you’re going for the food, not a lot to walk around and see in the town. My dad got the steak and it was so good! My wife got the sea bass and it was very good! A must have.

Reserved a table for 5pm and could have just walked in as it wasn’t busy. Tried a couple of apps and they were okay. The server was busy chatting with others instead of waiting on us. The entries were delicious. So we will be back.

I can’t review the food as we never made it to a table. The hostess was very rude. Sure, we didn’t have a reservation, but it was more of a looking over the end of her nose as a “you’re not welcome here” that was received, as we ran in out of torrential rains to try this restaurant as out-of-towners.
