This restaurant is a hidden gem, and I strongly suggest it to anybody looking for Katsu and Sushi. I eat here at least once a week and have always left happy. I highly recommend the Chicken Katsu with Omelet rice since the chicken is consistently crispy and the Omelet rice is fluffy. Additionally, the sushi is amazing, and the rolls are larger than anticipated. I really suggest the Big Bang Roll and the G-Dragon Roll.

Got the chicken katsu and sushi roll. The portion size seems pretty small but can be filling; in short, perfect size for a lunch. The sauce can be a bit sweet, so just be aware when ordering. Otherwise, I highly suggest checking out this spot at the food hall

New York Roll ‘n Katsu is small Japanese-inspired eatery serving up a menu of sushi, poke bowls, rice bowls, and more. located in the back of the Gallery 32, a food court in KTown. it’s a small clean setup—menu brightly displayed with an open kitchen behind it. cash and card are both accepted. there’s seating throughout the food court.

I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and Tiara Roll. These were so delicious! The teriyaki bowl impressed me so much, the salad that came with it was really fresh.

New York Roll’n Katsu’s name isn’t the only clever thing about this spot. Some of my favorite Japanese foods are on their menu, so that made it difficult for me to choose. Luckily, there’s “split decision” items like the one I got. Katsu Kare and Omurice are a match made in Kitchen Heaven. Their Omurice was absolutely perfectly cooked, from the soft, but firm grain of rice to the medium rare omelette, this was made by a master chef. The gravy (or demi-glace) was velvety and smooth, however was terribly under seasoned and added little to the dish. The pork Katsu was also under seasoned, which was a shame because it was fried perfectly, tender and juicy pork with a crispy coating.

Yum! Awesome option at the food court here as the price is worth it for the quality.

The chicken katsu with omelette rice was pretty good. The flavours of the chicken along with the crunch was spectacular. However, it was a annoying not to get the proper omelette rice as the egg was cooked all the way, and I preferred the creamy consistency that you usually get with an Asian omelette rice. Anyway, I think I prefer chicken katsu over pork katsu cos the sauce and cook on this was perfect. The service was incredibly fast.
