Take a step back to the pizza parlor of your youth at Vinny’s Pizzeria at The Wharf. Featuring giant slices, red checkerboard table cloths, old blue eyes on the wall, and the sound of Pac Mac from the vintage arcade games, it’s the place you go for just pizza, great pizza, the kind of pizza you always want more of but can’t find outside of New York City. Until now.

Someone here said this is not NY pizza and that Papa John’s is better.. I mean brother got to chill a bit with the 1 star wow… Don’t think this place was even marketing or trying to claim NY pizza geez.. Went for the classic pep slice and a supreme. Not bad at all with the supreme. But the oregano in the sauce starts to become too much with less toppings. Price was definitely not bad with the slice you get. Not sloppy soggy pizza as well, as most pizzas get with thin big slices so gotta give them kudos for that. They do use good cheese. Definitely go for the cheese calzone! I know that’s weird to push but they make that oh so good here and it is worth that extra 15 minute wait. Would choose their pizza over Papa John’s bread with toppings any day.

The restaurant is accommodating with plenty of tables. Their single slices are huge. Quick service. The lady taking our order was very helpful and sweet. The place was clean enough, and even though the menu didn’t have a huge amount of options, it is plenty enough for what anyone wants. The pizzas are thin crust, they’re cheese bread was right on point. The bathrooms were decent too. It was a nice surprise how we ended up there.

Horrible experience. First off I ordered a big splice and requested it come out with the rest of our order. My slice came out first, 35 minutes after we ordered. Then another 15 minutes later my wife’s calzone came out. It wasn’t to order; missing mushrooms but had onions and peppers that she didn’t order. Finally after we’ll over an hour sice the initial order my son gets his 16″ pizza, just a cheese pizza with chicken. The first waitress stated “something went wrong” and the second stated they burned it and was remaking it. My pizza tastes like a frozen box pizza and my son forced himself to eat 2 slices. Dominoes, Papa Johns, and even Little Cesar’s has better tasting pizza. A wasted $54 on this place. We will not be back here again.

The wife and I visited here for the first time yesterday. It is a small little pizza restraunt located at the Wharf. The pizzas are extremely big! Your order options are a slice, a 16 inch, and a 24 inch pizza. We ordered a 16″ pizza and could not finish it. We ordered a ham and mushroom. I would definitely eat here again if I were at the wharf.

Ordered a 24 inch pizza to go. Fresh, delicious & HUGE! Only reason for 4 stars was the pizza by the slice inside which we were going to buy first was dry and old looking. Opt for a fresh made pizza and you won’t be disappointed.

This is most definitely not a New York style pizza in the way of the dough or sauce. I’ve been there and done that too many times, this isn’t even a long distance cousin. I ordered a large pepperoni because of reviews. It was a big pie with a big price. One large pizza, one slice and a Michelob ultra can was $57 and some change. Papa Johns is 2:1 better for way cheaper. Staff was nice and courteous but would not recommend if you are thinking NYC style,or flavor, just isn’t there.

Be careful and check your bank account before you leave the area. They charged us twice for our food. Once for just the food and then once again for the food and tip. I will never step foot in there again because they are bad business. Of course they will not refund us anything because we do not have the receipt and we are not close to go up and fight it.

Tried this place when it first opened. Thought it was very good. Tried it again… this time it was terrible. The sauce was disgustingly over powering. The dough/crust was very similar to cardboard. I ate half of a slice and the rest of a whole pizza went to the garbage. Very overpriced and definitely not worth it. Just writing about it is making me nauseous. I had the supreme. It had what they called sliced meatballs on it. It was more like super thin slices of meatloaf that were mushy. Terrible idea… terribly gross. Pick Sbarro, Dominoes, Papa Johns, or Pizza Hut. At least you know what you’re getting.

It was okay. we’re from Chicago so it’s tough to find something that compares. $5 for a large slice of cheese. If you buy by the slice, then they reheat a slice of the older pizzas in the case. That made it taste reheated. The cheese was good, but the amount of sauce was slim & the crust was tough. Overall wouldn’t spend the price again
