Frozen tiramisu (no joke, video attached to show how icy the custard was with BRITTLE lady fingers), overpriced burrata with 4 tomato wedges besides it, and “oh you’ll want to save your silverware” for a place that claims to be fine dining???

We went here for my daughter’s 21st birthday dinner. She wanted authentic Italian cuisine and got it! It was located downtown Eau Claire. The atmosphere was very loud with an echo but we still had a lovely dinner.

We stopped in on a night that may have been a little busier around dinner and we sat immediately at the bar as we like to. Ordered some top shelf drinks but noticed right away that this seemed to be a bother for the bartender, no kind words or even an inquiry of how we were, just an interesting look. We asked for drinks which wasn’t much just a good martini, a whiskey sour and later a bourbon. The whiskey sour was horribly made but I drank it and didn’t say anything but she could tell. I then ordered a bourbon which was poured neat and I wasn’t asked for ice which is fine because I like it either way but it’s proper to ask. The rudeness became amusing to us with the looks and body language to other patrons and we made comment of it to each other. It seemed the bartender was more interested in herself and talking to what I assume was the other bartender. We were going to have food but paid our tab and went somewhere else.

The Mona Lisa is a really cute spot. Service was great, food was okay. I ordered the traditional bolognese and it wasn’t bolognese. The sauce tasted like canned chili and it was crunchy for some reason. However, I went with a big group and a lot of the others enjoyed their meals.

The mushroom ravioli is wonderful. We sat at the bar and soaked in the atmosphere. Pretty cool place! Even John Prine found Mona Lisa a delicious place for dinner.

Always have had lovely food here. We came in with a large party that was a bit of handful, and Jess and the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely! They even let me put in my order early because I needed to leave. Just a great experience all around.

It’s been a number of years. I was happy to see after the pandemic, they were still in business.

Took my wife here for her birthday. Such a cool atmosphere, great drinks, and delicious food! I got the ravioli with wild mushrooms and chicken and she got the tortellini Alfredo with sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms. Both were so good! Not to mention friendly and fast service. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Eau Claire!

Inside was adorable! My group of friends (all artists) were drawn in by the screen-printing screens in the window. It seemed like a great place for us to get some drinks and food. We waited in a line behind one other group and waited to ask about how long of a wait time there was/ if we can eat at the bar. My friends and I are very patient/ easy going people. We waited a while before even being addressed. The hostess looked right past us and would not acknowledge us until we got her attention. When we did we were met with a very unkind “do you have a reservation?” the tone of her voice was snobby. When we answered with “no” she stated she needed to seat her reservations first (which is fair), but she had such a terrible attitude about it. In the middle of asking if we could order at the bar she walked away- MID SENTENCE. We then waited for her to come back to ask if we could eat at the bar again, and she just snipped “no, not today!” so we left. I understand that it can be overwhelming and busy as someone who worked in food service, however, to be treated in such a way puts a terrible taste in our mouths. We were very kind the entire time, excited about the atmosphere but was turned away by such an unpleasant woman.
