A carry out menu was placed in my mailbox by Door dash. I decided to check out the location and also try the food. I was surprised to see it was tucked away on the left of Giant supermarket. I certainly could have driven past it if not for Maps guiding me. I placed a phone order for Chicken Lo mein with broccoli and the Jumbo Shrimp Tempura. My food was ready and bagged for pickup. The prices are reasonable and food was appealing. I usually like my food more spicy but that’s my personal taste.

My wife and I stopped in here as we were visiting the area (we moved) and had previously enjoyed this restaurant. The service started slow, but then improved. My wife ordered the walnut shrimp and I had the chicken with cashews. The shrimp dish was good, but not as good as she remembered from years past. The chicken with cashews was only average…the brown sauce had no real taste to it. We were satisfied when leaving, but felt the restaurant had lost its edge. I would have rated 3.5 stars if I could have, but four is too high, so three was the result.

This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area for many years. My family and I dined in for dinner and it was sad to notice that things have changed. The wontons were served with a very sweet sauce, not the usual sweet and sour- and no spicy mustard. Chopsticks weren’t offered either. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken which was SO heavily breaded and not as spicy as it usually is, it was mostly just sweet sauce. Everyone else in my group is familiar with this restaurant and said the same thing that the food was not nearly as good as it used to be. I guess Hunan Legend fell into the same issue of trying to make up lost money from covid and trying to use cheaper/less ingredients. This used to be our go to Chinese restaurant for a very long time but I’m sad to say I won’t be hurrying back for a meal. I really hope things go back to the way they were.

Staff are really nice. The food is pretty good and something to have on a random occasion. Food is not spicy like Mongolian chicken (which is labeled spicy). But if you go there and order spicy, ask them how spicy they can make it.

Outstanding food. I ordered General Taos chicken and it came out hot, and was delicious! We sat inside, plenty of room. If you are a ice tea drinker, this place has the BEST ice tea I have had. No need for sweetener. Not to strong. I’m diabetic, so ice tea is important to me. Very nice restaurant. I will be returning. Pricing is only a couple of dollars more but WORTH IT!!

We had been loyal customers enjoying dine in and ordering takeout for many years. Since the beginning of COVID, they have chosen to remain predominantly a carryout business. Overall, carryout had been good over the years if you were able to overlook their consistently unfriendly demeanor. I think they need to remind themselves that they are in business because of their customers.

The food is goood. Love the combo meal choices that many favorites include entree, soup or egg roll, and tea at a great price where service is courteous and fast.

I was in hurry to work today so I didn’t pack my homemade food. I ordered shrimp fried rice here and it was terrible fried rice, basically I was eating uncooked rice. I cook rice for my family every day so I know what the good rice tastes. The rice was just cooked a haft way. My tummy needs a day or two to digest the uncooked grain. I only could swallow a coup of spoons of rice and I brought the leftovers home for my chickens. I didn’t want to bring it back to the restaurant, I just never come back again.

We’ve been going to Hunan Legend for 25+ years! Absolutely the BEST Chinese food in the area along with friendly, warm staff and ownership! We moved away from the area and still pick up takeout fairly regularly because we haven’t found any place in the area that offers this kind of service and food!
