By far one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. The Chinese cuisine created by this chef is mouth-watering and flavor packed. The food was fresh and light. The presentation of each dish allows the unique story of each dish to shine. I had one of their new dishes, a shrimp and vermicelli dish that was the best shrimp dish of any cuisine I have ever had. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was comforting and serene!

This place is a nice addition to the Chinese restaurant scene here in Montclair. This place is a well known chain and the dishes came out nicely done. The only minor complaint is the thick, meaty slices of Peking duck. The Peking duck slices rather look like Cantonese roasted duck. If you are looking for an authentic Chinese cuisine experience, I would recommend here.

This place lived up to the hype. I guess I wasn’t too sure what to expect, because this restaurant seemed like a blend of traditional and new generation branding of Chinese food, but I think a good way to describe this restaurant is simply that it focuses on doing the basics right. They pay attention to the small details that matter — such as using higher quality Jasmine tea (the first pot is really nice, but they do just fill it up with hot water afterwards for refills), showing your order summary and total cost on a tablet after you list the items that you want (in case you want to eliminate, add, or adjust), fast food service, aesthetics of the food, knowledgeable staff in regards to ingredients of dishes and suggestions, calculating suggested tips based on pre-tax total on the bill, interior decor, etc.

Jiang-Nan means river south, referring to the Shanghai area of China. The flavors show characteristics of that region with more sweetness in many dishes. If you like your Chinese dishes a little sweet, it’s worth a try. High quality cooking with nice setting and service.

The taste of authentic Chinese food in an upscale ambience. The dishes were very well-presented, but without compromise to flavor. The Peking duck is one of the best I’ve had on the East Coast. They serve it on thin pancakes (think crepes, not baos), which I prefer. A surprise standout was the smashed eggplant and pepper, where they smash it table-side. Another table ordered the cumin lamb on a sizzling plate that was ignited table-side as well. It was a cool experience to see the flashy finishing touches before enjoying the delicious food. We drove 45 minutes to eat here, and would gladly do it again!
