I kind of struggle between giving this four or five stars, for one reason only – the pricing at first made me feel a little bit of sticker shock. After thinking it through though, I think that’s less about what I got than about what I expected to get. I think with the way the menu and the pricing is laid out, it could possibly be easy to get the wrong impression of how things are going to add up. But that’s the only negative I could really come up with. The food was fantastic. I mean, it wasn’t complicated – it was sausage and eggs – but if anybody thinks you can’t mess up something like that, let me assure you, you most certainly can. The sausage was flavorful and fresh, and he eggs were perfect, the sourdough toast, was outstanding. As for the ambience – I loved it. It’s not a big place – don’t even think about bringing your party of 50 over there – but it’s quaint, and homey, a little quirky, and eclectic. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and aside from the fact that they don’t like Apple devices, I couldn’t really find anything to complain about! I spend a good bit of time in this area, and I expect this isn’t the last time I’ll stop by to see what the Kitchen Witch has stewing in her cauldron.

Such a wonderful little spot! We drove 20 min off the highway for this place and we were hoping it would meet expectations but it exceeded! The staff was so warm, inviting, and friendly. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was really good. I got a western omelette and loved that they put extra spices on the cheese. Really completed the omelette. Home fries were delicious as was the bread. The best personal touch I saw was that they had a basket of diapers for babies in the bathroom who may need one in case the diaper bag was left at home. I have never seen that before, ever…and I thought it was a nice personal touch. If I’m ever in this area again, I’d love to come back!

Small place seating, maybe 14 people and only a small kitchen yet they serve breakfast done perfectly in timely. Not just the basics but grits, and we are talking real grits not instant as well as scrapple. Unlike most places today, they don’t over salt anything. Great little gem worth a drive.

The restaurant is quite small, having only a handful of tables. Not overly busy when we arrived, but due to the seating of the other patrons, our party of 7 was unable to sit together. The staff is quite friendly and the food is very good. We had breakfast, which seemed a little pricey, but nice portions. Would definitely return, maybe for lunch next time.

Love their breakfast. Haven’t ordered in a bit just because we have busy but for a little while it was a Saturday morning ritual to order breakfast for take out. Going to have to start back up again.. I recommend the western omelet and the French toast. Everything is always so good. The home fries are delicious. Even the white toast is amazing! Try it if you haven’t!

If you are traveling through Howard, PA or visiting Bald Eagle State Park this is a MUST M U S T visit place. On my first visit I ordered the steak breakfast. When asked how I wanted the steak I answered with a confident, “rare.” As soon as I uttered the word I heard a, “YES,” from the kitchen. I believe that confirmed I had made the right choice. The food was cooked with quality ingredients and, most importantly, with lots of love and care. The steak was perfect. The eggs were masterfully cooked over easy. The butter was real… the home fries were delicious. My wife ordered grits two consecutive days. Yep. It was that good… according to her… I hate grits so I’ll take her word for it. She’s never liked grits from anyone but her grandmother. I will be visiting Bald Eagle SP again but not because it is a destination I want to revisit but because Kitchen Witch is worth the the hour drive and the park is a great place to burn off the calories consumed. Kurt and Donna, I hope I remembered correctly, thank you for the excellent food and great hospitality.

While traveling through the area, we stumbled on this little place. I kept my breakfast simple, just having french toast and bacon, but I think this was the best tasting bacon I’ve ever had. Only wish this place was closer to where I live so I could go back again.

Omelette was really great. The spices on top looked like magic dust ✨ I only wish I could’ve taken a picture before that omelette disappeared

A fantastic little gem of a place for breakfast and lunch. Very friendly and accommodating. Delicious, and creative foods with a lot of it locally sourced. I look forward to returning many times.
