Pig In A Pickle Menu – Emeryville, CA

Type : Barbecue restaurant

Location : Emeryville, CA

Pig in a Pickle BBQ specializes in slow cooked meats using only white oak. All of our meats come from family owned sustainable ranches. No antibiotics or hormones are given to any animals we sell.

You order directly from the meat cutter, they cut your meat and weigh it in front of you. You can order any amount you want.

We aim to cook enough meat to sell out of our main meats daily. We try to make sure we have enough for our posted hours but on occasion we will sellout earlier. This ensures that you are getting high quality fresh meat cooked daily in our smokers.

While we do not take phone orders we do have a phone number to call so you can find out if we have sold out of your favorite meats before heading over.

Thanks
Pig

I wanted to like this place, but it does have it’s flaws. First they sell their meat by the pound, but it ended up $2.00 more than avertised price. The ribs were dry and sold at room temperature. The sides were just warmer then room temperature. The sauce was just okay. I assume you must take your food home to heat it up yourself.

I decided to try this place for lunch today because I hvnt been but got confused with the menu. I saw people having bbq sandwiches but it was not on their menu. I decided to ask the service person about the sandwiches and he said I can order any amount of meat and they can put it between a bun.

Excellent brisket. They only sell meat by the pound and they don’t have any beer, so I can’t speak to the other meat dishes but their brisket was excellent! Good smoke penetration and not too dry

On the price your side but completely worth it… It is Some of the best barbecue brisket I’ve had in the bay the meat so soft and melt-in-your-mouth go with the hot BBQ sauce to complete the flavor profile it is worth every cent. The mac and cheese is really good but for the best side go with the cornbread and the potato salad. They might recommend the third town but go with at least half a pound it is that good you’ll want more.

Omg these guys know good food! I got the beef brisket and it literally melts in my mouth! Also tried the potato salad, beans, corn bread, coleslaw and banana pudding. I swear I’m not that fat just wanted to try it all. Taking a LOT home! Everything is soooooooo good! You won’t be disappointed with this food.

BBQ for yppo. I had to stop mid-meal to take home the bbq chicken, potato salad, and coleslaw and finish seasoning them. Also the potatoes were undercooked; the only time potatoes should be crunchy is if they’re fries or chips, not in a potato salad. These 2 stars are because the service was friendly.

I cannot say this is the best or even good BBQ. As a Flint’s kid I should know. I’d also like to add the customer service sucked…The guy that helped me seemed a bit cantankerous and contentious. I almost walked away, but it smelled good so I continued with my order. I noticed the menu was À la carte which I didn’t like…then I paid $28 for a half rack and one link. That was a bit pricey for unseasoned meat. I would have gotten some potato salad but it was overloaded with who knows what????

Excellent brisket! Tender, juicy, flavorful – better than a lot of the BBQ places in Texas and around that I’ve had. Highly recommend — get about a third to a half pound per person. It’s not cheap but definitely worth it.

I’ll have to give this place another chance. I had the ribs and they were small and dry. They had a smoky taste and nice flavor though. Maybe it’s because I came at the end of the day and got the last batch, but I was expecting more. However, the tangy sauce and sides were standard and good. I’ll have to try the brisket or something else to get a better gauge. Overall, I’m glad there’s BBQ in the Public Market.
