The Nightingale Supper Club has been serving Door County families since 1913 and is the go-to for prime rib and Friday night fish fry. The food was amazing, the creamy crab and asparagus soup was the best soup ive ever had, however we got sat in the corner and I think our server forgot about us. Took him quite a while to come over and acknowledge us. Maybe he was new or just having an off night. So we will definitely be back to try it again next time we are in town.

Was in Sturgeon Bay, WI for an event last week and had the pleasure of dining at this lovely establishment our first night in – we were a 50+ party and both at the bar area ahead of dinner, as well as at our tables, all were served as if the staff were merely waiting on a couple or two.

We had reservations for 730. Upon arrival, we were given a pager while they got our table ready. We took a seat at the bar and I ordered a Cherry Cosmo. We barely got our drinks and our pager went off. We were seated in the beautiful dining room and our server greeted us almost immediately. She made a recommendation of the prime rib but did tell us that they were featuring their fish fry. My husband ordered the 16 ounce prime which was absolutely delicious! One of the best primes my husband has ever had!!! I ordered the pan fried walleye which I thought was ok. The breading tasted very floury, and it was on the soggy side. Could have been fried a minute or two longer. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert which was very rich and delicious and perfect for sharing. Service was great from the moment we walked in until we left.

The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is perfect. Service was top-notch. They have a lounge area with a bar and plenty of seating for while you wait for a table. Though it says club, no membership is required. Come with a date, a big group of friends, or treat the family.

Great food, Great Atmosphere all in all I highly recommend! Be aware when we went there, the wait was 1.5 hours on a Tuesday. It was not the restaurants fault. We did have a group of 8 people and were told by a local to not worry about making a reservation as it was a Tuesday. Just be mindful and be sure to call ahead and make a reservation if at all possible. The food was amazing and absolutely worth the wait. If you do have to wait, the bar is a great place to hang out with your friends and/or family until your table is ready.

Prime Rib was great. Service was cold. The host was not a warm greeting, they just handed us a buzzer and moved on. Sat in the bar area for 10-15 minutes and the servers had blinders on. Finally went and fetched our own beverages from a very nice bartender who was working her butt off. 20 minutes after our reservation time our buzzer went off and our table server was almost as cold as the host.

This was our first visit and everything was better than excellent. It was a perfect dining experience. It’s a well lit dining area, nicely appointed with white tablecloths. Our waitress was spectacular!! She monitored each course to ensure we received the next course after we completed checked in at all the right times; this should be standard, but it’s not. First, the best Southern Comfort Old Fashioned in a long time. Apps were prime rib nachos and cheese curds – sooo good. Next, creamy crab asparagus soup – double yum. Next beef tenderloin and garlic shrimp or Prime Rib with baked or garlic mash potatoes. Can’t forget the bread….warm and soft. So delicious. I highly recommend, it will not disappoint!!
