Very good dinner but expensive. Heads up, all sides do not come with the dinner. So you have to pay for them separately! The sides are large and tasty, but they should be included with the dinner. My wife enjoyed her steak, but my steak had a lot fat and was tough. Gratuity is automatically included on the bill. Atmosphere is nice. Service is ok, but the waitress tries to get you to order more sides to increase your bill. (Higher the bill, higher the gratuity).

Really wanted to give this place 5 stars as soon as we were seated. Nice decor, friendly staff. Unfortunately our steaks were so salty we couldn’t even eat them. We were offered to have them remade, but couldn’t live with the fact that those steaks were going to be thrown out. Animals don’t need to suffer unnecessarily. Very surprised and disappointed in the steaks.

It was our anniversary. We desided to splurdge and eat here. The waitress was awesome the service was great! The food was excellent! We got the porterhouse steak for 2. It was the best steak we have had in a long time. Done just right and very tender my hubby got lobster mac and cheese for a side and I got mm ash potatoes with butter. We luved both. we were to full to even think about it. So we took it to our room for later. Had To Taste It When We Got There omg! It was awesome (berry churros) I only had 2 bites. Lol

My friends and I really liked our dinner at the Downtown Erie Chophouse, (Cheyenne Cattle Company Chophouse) at the Avalon Hotel. Believe me when I say I was super worried about going to dinner at the Avalon because that hotel has really been in disrepair for so long. The Chophouse (and the amazing tapas experience at Bolero, for that matter), however, is a great experience! The decor is super old-school but that was made up by the cuisine, which is an incredible A++. The traditional steakhouse menu is complimented by lots of forward-thinking dishes. I had a fantastic Ribeye, and my wife had a delicious petit filet. Sides were a la carte and made to share, just like the best steakhouses in the US. My only real complaint was the decor because there is a carpeted floor which dampens any volume, making the atmosphere much more muted than I would prefer. But whatever – downtown Erie PA needed a steakhouse and Cheyenne Cattle Company Chophouse at the Avalon Hotel delivered big time.

So disappointed. The atmosphere left a lot to be desired. My steak was nothing to write home about. Unfortunately, I’ve had better at some chains then here. The bathrooms are shared with the Avalon and therefore are in desperate need of an update. My husband was not impressed either.

The food was average at best & way overpriced. After reviewing my bill the next day, I noticed a fee of $20 for “open food” which I found out is a service charge added on to the bill for basically just going in there to eat. Disappointed that they snuck in a hidden fee on top of the overpriced food. Will not go back again.
