This place was very unique. From a Bloody Mary bar to fresh food this place is a must. The staff was friendly and tons of seating. It’s downtown with a ton of shops near it. Perfect for after you’re done eating. The prices are fair, it’s a touristy area so they arnt going to be cheap. But the food was so fresh and tasted amazing. I would definitely go back.

Great service even tho this place was packed. Food came out fast and was just what we needed. Lots of people enjoying the bar; the bourbon choices looked fantastic.

My friends and I have been here several times. Unique food options, huge bourbon/whiskey selections. Gets a little loud in the bar for me. ‍♀️ Catfish is my current fave. Had to try the pimento cheese and fried green tomato sandwich. Wouldn’t get it again (LOTS of cheese, not much tomato).

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch on Wednesday just after noon. It was nice that it didn’t seem to be crowded. We sat up at the bar and ordered unsweetened ice tea. My daughter ordered the crab fries, which was a large portion and she reported as very good. I ordered the Jambalaya which was a large portion for lunch, so I took half home for tomorrow. It was flavorful and just a touch spicy. Good for those who cant take too much heat. I added more pepper sauce for my tastes. Overall a good experience and we will be stopping back when we are in the area next.

So far we were multiple times patronizing this premise. Every time the service was consistently great. Friendly people are working here and I’m talking about restaurant side, seating area. So far we never been seated in bar area. Ambiance is not fancy, but it is very homey and warm. You feel like you are at home. What is the most important we never been rushed out, what is a very important for our family.

Loved the food. Portion size was a little. It on the small side. Ordered the biscuits and gravy and there was only one biscuit. The chicken was really good and also enjoyed the deviled eggs. The waitress was a bit on the surly side and had a bit of an attitude.

Was out running errands & got super hungry. Started to look for places in the area & came across 55 South. After reading some reviews, we decided we wanted to try it out. Nice restaurant with a nice ambience. We ordered the crab fries, shrimp & grits, & red beans & rice with catfish. Overall the food was good although the red beans & rice tasted as if it was missing something when eating it alone, however mixing the catfish in with it gave the flavor we were seeking. The 2-for-1 mimosas were great as well. I would definitely go back to try other items on the menu!

My wife and I met my three work colleagues for diner. My portion of the party was a bit tardy. The server did a great job of making sure we had time to look over the menu.

Had Sunday brunch here today. It was busy (about noon) but we still got sat right away. Service was good, food was out in a reasonable amount of time and it was all delicious. I do wish I had syrup for my French toast but I also didn’t ask for it. The chicken on the hot chicken sandwich and chicken and gravy were very tender and moist. I ordered the mimosa and it was ok. We sat next to the wall of license plates and since we don’t do phones during meals, we had a fun game of someone choosing a license plate and the others had to find it. I also love the green lawn outside. If you were sitting near the window, you could send older children out to play until your food was ready.
