I had been wanting to try 2 Hopewell for a while and yesterday was a bit disappointed. While our server was great, the food quality and price really weren’t.

I tried there caprese flatbread, farro bowl and veg terrine. The food was delicious and portion size was great. For drinks tried darungo cocktail which was good as well. Food is pricey though. Ambiance was nice except for the loud crowd

We went to 2 Hopewell in Glastonbury the other night. 6-25. We asked for a corner table. Celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. We always go here for our Anniversary. We did get a corner table. It was not that crowded. Right next to us. Were two very drunk, LOUD ladies. This was in the dining room. Not the bar. A server a young kid. Gave us bread and a plate with olive oil. He spilled the oil all over the floor and on our table. He did not clean up the oil on the table. Just a little on the floor. He said I guess I have too much oil. As the night went on. The ladies did get louder and more drunk We should have just left. Our meals were very good. As we left we told a man that was working there He stated. Oh I’m sorry. I guess we will have to find another nice restaurant to go to. Nancy Roy

Attended a small birthday gathering of about 20 people last night. We had a cozy private room with 2 servers that were very kind and attentive…… Blake and Claire. The Wedge salad was so tasty! All of the entrees looked good. I had the Filet…..it was outstanding! Cooked perfectly. Very nice place for a special occasion!

Small homely place with a rustic feel and unique menu. The Whistler was an interesting cocktail and the Peach Blanco sounded better than it tasted. A different Caesar salad with kale offered a bitterness that lacked a sweet counter but overall was very good. Another appetizer we had was the fried short rib mac n cheese bites, which were fantastic! My wife and I got the Airline Chicken and Short Ribs, both of which were very good. The Airline Chicken especially had great spice that was complimented by the feta watermelon salad and hearty cauliflower mash and squash. The short ribs were very flavorful but needed more gnocchi. To finish we got sorbet (too small) and the Blueberry Crisp (excellent). Overall it was a great experience and I would love to go back.

Really great restaurant!! So cute inside and the food was delicious!! My only complaint is that there was way to much quinoa with the sea bass, it was drowning in it! The fish itself was amazing though!!! The bread to start was sooooo good and addicting! Then I had the tomato bisque which was great. Then the pulled pork ravioli! It was really delicious. I had a bite of my partner’s fish and chips and it was one of the best ive ever had!! The manhattans were just okay but the staff was so friendly! Would definitely go back!

We celebrated our anniversary here last week, on a Thursday night. We had an amazing meal, in a quiet, unpretentious atmosphere. Our filets were delicious, perfectly cooked, and we were able to swap out sides for the charred Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes with no issues. They had one of my absolute favorite beers from the Maine Brewing Co, “Lunch,” on tap. This place really gave us an un-improvable experience, and in this day of hit or miss dining out, staffing shortages, and COVID-19 restrictions, I really must thank & commend the staff both FOH and BOH. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a splurge worthy dinner out!!!

Visiting friends in Glastonbury for the weekend,we enjoyed dinner at 2 Hopewell on Saturday night. The restaurant is unassuming from the outside, standing on a quiet corner, but as soon as you enter through the front door, you will be transfixed. Pale pink roses in glass cases adorn white draped tables. Rustic wooden beams accent the dining room, and twinkle lights add a romantic ambiance. Soft music plays – everything from Frank Sinatra to Norah Jones. We started off with drinks. I had a delicious Mule on a copper mug. My dinner companions enjoyed a glass of Tequila on the rocks which they enjoyed. For an appetizer we split the calamari. It was crisp and crunchy, perfectly breaded, and served with a delicious dipping sauce. We then split the beet salad which was colorful and tasty. Warm bread and butter arrived and didn’t disappoint. For dinner I had the filet and scallop surf and turf dinner which came with a twice baked potato and roasted Brussels sprouts. The steak was butter tender and the scallop perfectly seared. My friend had the scallops, asparagus and sweet potato risotto which I tasted and thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert, we couldn’t decide on just one so we sampled the espresso bread pudding, warm mixed berry with crumble and the creme brulee. All were equally delicious. I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite. The one sort of damper on the evening – the waitress could have been a bit more attentive. But other than that, one of the more enjoyable dinners I’ve had in a very long time. And the matre de or possibly the owner? did stop by our table to ask how we were enjoying our dinner.

Wonderful food and service! We had an earlier reservation time so it was pretty quiet and cozy. Our server was great, food was delicious, refined American with unexpected twists. Not a place to get huge portions, everything is thoughtfully crafted and we didn’t waste a bite!
